A Non-Profit Organization (NPO) is a legal entity created primarily to serve a purpose other than generating profit for its members. Registering as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) provides substantial benefits for non-profit organizations. It enables the issuance of tax-deductible donation receipts, which can encourage greater contributions from supporters. Additionally, obtaining charitable status opens doors to grants from both government and private programs that require such designation. Registered charities also enjoy income tax exemptions for their charitable activities and are typically exempt from Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) on most supplies and services. This allows them to allocate more resources toward fulfilling their missions.

Organization's Name Reservation: Refers to an official name search report issued by Industry Canada specifically for your non-profit entity. If you haven't obtained one, rest assured that we will include it as part of the order process. This report ensures the uniqueness and official recognition of your chosen name.

Agent for service: is a contact person for the corporation who resides in Alberta. Government or other agencies may contact the agent for service for official purposes and must be available to respond on behalf of the corporation. Usually a director can be an agent of service.

The Board is made up Directors, Officers and Members. All directors are same with equal status and power. We call them Director 1. Director 2,etc for convenience of filing. Otherwise they all have same role in a corporation. You can add up to 10 directors.
